Richard Gasquet- Born with Natural Ability

Richard Gasquet lives in Neuchatel, Switzerland. He was born on 18th June in 1986. He took birth in Beziers, Languedoc-Roussillon region. Richard is his parents’ only child. At very young age, he started playing tennis. When Richard was four years old, his father guided him to play tennis. At that time, Richard’s dad had a tennis club, which was named TC Serignan. His mother’s name is Maryse. She used to help her husband to run the tennis club. Richard got the initial training of tennis from his father’s tennis club. When he was 9 years old, he was featured on the cover page of a renowned French magazine, which helped to boost his tennis career. His father and Tarik Benhabiles coached the small Richard, in his early days. When he turned into a professional tennis player, his coach became Eric Deblicker and also Guillame Peyre.

In the month of February of 2010, Gabriel Markus was hired as his coach. Previously, Markus has worked with David Nalbandian and Marat Safin. In April 2002, Richard Gasquet made his debut at Monte Carlo on ATP tour. When he was 15 years old, he defeated Franco Squillari, who was from Argentina. In the same year, he made his debut in the Grand Slam of 2002 French Open. 2002 seemed to be a very good year for Richard. He achieved the junior titles in US Open and also in French Open and became the junior world champion of that particular year. He was also the youngest player, who finished the year end ATP at 200. In 2003, he completed the year end ATP at 100 and the youngest among the other players. In 2004, he reached the finals of the ATP tournament for the first time but, was defeated by Jerome Haehnel. In that particular year, he became the partner of Tatiana Golovin at French Open. They won that tournament. In the beginning of 2005 Richard Gasquet suffered from chicken pox. In the last two months of the year, he had an elbow injury, which did not allow him to play matches. However, he ended the year as number1 French tennis player. In 2006, Richard suffered from several injuries. He was ill for most of the season. But still, he remained as the number1 French tennis play for two consecutive years.

Some of his great achievements includes Runner up in 2005 Hamburg and 2006 Toronto. In both the finals he was defeated by Roger Federer. In 2007, Richard Gasquet became the runner up in Monte Carlo in doubles category. His partner was Julien Benneteau. They were defeated by Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan.

Richard Gasquet is well known for precise and powerful single handed backhand. He has got real power in backhand. He has got very flexible reflexes and always moves with a great speed inside the court. He is comfortable in all sorts of surfaces. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was born on April 17, 1985. He is a professional tennis player from France. His birthplace was Le Mans and belongs to a mixed ancestry. Tsonga’s mother is a French woman while his father is Congolese. His mother’s name is Evelyne and father’s is Didier. In 1970s, Didier came to France to play the sport of handball where he met Evelyne. They fell in love and soon got married. Tsonga is their second kid. He has a younger brother and an elder sister. His younger brother’s name is Enzo. He is also attracted towards sports and is the member of the junior French Basketball team. Tsonga’s elder sister’s name is Sasha. She is very much away from sports. Charles N Zonbia is his cousin. Zonbia is the part of the Wigan Athletic football club. In his childhood, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga used to mimic great tennis players. Tongsa is 6 feet 2inches tall with dark complexion. He has great facial resemblance with the world’s finest boxer Mohammad Ali. For this reason he is regarded as the Mohammad Ali of tennis. Gael Monfils and Jo were very good friends since child hood. In the junior ages, Tsonga’s biggest rival was Marcos Bagdatis.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga began his early tennis career in 2003, with great success. He won US Open title for junior category by defeating his childhood rival Marco Bagdatis in the final match. In the same year, he reached the semi finals of other Grand Slams. In 2004, Jo became the pro tennis player but, in that particular year he began to suffer from string injuries. 2005 and 2006 also went bad for him. He suffered from several shoulder and abdominal injuries in those years. From 2004 to 2006, Tsonga played only 8 tournaments. He failed to perform well in these tournaments due to several health problems.

At the beginning of 2007, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was ranked 212. He achieved 4 Challenger titles in Surbiton, Mexico, Tallahassee and Lanzarote. In 2007, Wimbledon he reached up to the fourth level by defeating Nicolas Lapentti, Feliciano Lopez and Julien Benneteau. In 2007 US open, Rafael Nadal defeated Tsonga. Jo and Grosjean achieved their first doubles title in 2007 GrandPixDeTennisDeLyon tournament, by defeating Lovro Zovko and Lukasz Kubot in the final match. In July of 2007, his rank was 74 and he ended the year with a rank of 43. In one word, year 2007 went very well for Tsonga. In 2008, he defeated world champion Novak Djokovic and in 2009, he ended the season by staying among the top ten players. Year 2010 did not go well for Jo. He started suffering from knee injury and was out of the final match of French Davis Cup. He could not stay among the top ten players. His consistency got ruined due to injuries.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has very innovative style of play. He has got powerful service ability and heavy forehands. His playing style is of offensive baseline type.
